Great Falls National Park

Spend time at this incredible, 800-acre park along the banks of the Potomac River where you can not only see one of the region’s most beatiful natural features, but also learn about the area’s interesting colonial history. The park features a set of white water falls that can be observed from multiple overlooks that have been constructed along scenic walking trails. In addition to hiking, rock climbing and kayaking, visitors can spend time at the park’s historic Visitor’s Center that is part of the historic remains of the Patowmack Canal System constructed in the late 1700s.
